Similar Japanese categories exist for microvans, and kei trucks. These vehicles are most often the Japanese equivalent of the EU A-segment (city cars). The kei car category was created by the Japanese government in 1949, and the regulations have been revised several times since. These regulations specify a maximum vehicle size, engine capacity, and power output, so that owners may enjoy both tax and insurance benefits. This Minica Toppo City Bee is a prime exactly or working EXACTLY within that law. The motor is the maximum size it is allowed to be and the dimensions are also as big as possible. There's a TON of room inside this cool little car. Massive interior headroom, classic british styled interior and that adorable front end make this the ultimate high MPG city car. Update, we've had it up to an indicated 120 kph! I'm not suggesting you should drive it this fast, but I'm honestly surprised at how peppy it is.

The Mitsubishi Toppo is a light recreational vehicle (RV) produced by Mitsubishi Motors from 1990 until 2004 and then from 2008 until 2013. The original version was derived from their Minica kei car. The name is a portmanteau of the English "top" (roof) and the Japanese "noppo" (lanky).[1] TOPPO means Lanky-Roof or Tall Roof.

Originally named the Mitsubishi Minica Toppo, a retro-styled variant was introduced in 1996 called the Mitsubishi Minica Toppo Town Bee. It was the most stylish Minica ever sold.
