Winter Storage - Because just
leaving your bike sitting in the garage will end up costing you more than you think.
What happens when you leave your bike in the garage all winter?
The salt and ice from your car melt and form a very corrosive solution that will pit your chrome, oxidize your aluminum
and rust your metal.
The freezing/thawing temperature changes
between night and day will cause condensation that actually puts water INTO your motor which corrodes your bearings and cylinders.
Your battery loses up to 3% of the charge every day - this
allows sulphites to form in your battery which can't be removed. Batteries are expensive.
The gas in your carbs evaporates leaving behind solids and the ethanol attracts moisture which oxidizes the inside
of your carbs.
Rust and sediment in your gas tank clog your fuel tap
and accumulate in the bottom of your carbs blocking starter jets and other passages.
Your tires get flat-spots which are deformities that will lead to poor handling in the spring.
All of this will lead to a very expensive
towing and service bill in the spring, your bike will be in for work at the busiest time of the year and you'll miss valuable
